Advice is great, but advice on its own won’t make you a better writer. We become better writers by writing and it’s always easier to write when we’re inspired. To that end, a creative prompt using an ordinary item.

Dad said I'd never make it. I knew I would. "Good things come in three's," I told him. This confidence did little to lessen the daily work required, but it made the motivation all the much sweeter. "We'll get there," I thought to myself. "You'll see."
